About us…Well, here’s my story.. Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA.. I always wondered why did I never leave..and move my booty to the beach.. Well, for starters Bakersfield is not so bad.. yes, maybe a little hot in the summer, a little foggy in the winter.. BUT.. one day a few years back (Oh, don’t worry I am not going to give away my age..).. I met this tall hunk of a guy at.. a Halloween Party of all places.. everyone was calling him Hans.. I did not think much of it.. until a few words came out.. and I was a goner…OH yes.. a very strong Swedish accent.. He came to Bakersfield to study Farming.. which so happens is what my family does.. Perfect, I thought.. So, basically my dreams of moving to Santa Monica.. not much farming there.. changed real fast.. And now, a few years later.. and four, yes, four wonderful children… Our one hockey playing son.. and our three Beautiful girls.. is where my new dreams began…!!
So here we go…
Why not bring some of my Santa Monica and LA shopping dreams to Bakersfield…Shopping I love.. girly girl things we have to have..I can do this I thought.. let’s open a little girls favorite place to wanna go…. and why not.. call it what I call my girls….. my Shabby Girls!!!!
I did it.. I opened up Shabby Girls and added all of my favorite European lines with of course a few of my favorite American brands.. You know the whole Swedish/American thing..gotta keep it going.. anyway.. I could not just sell clothes I thought.. let’s make this fun.. let’s do parties too…!!! Little girls love to be pampered..LET’S DO IT….. have girly girl parties too… With a Funky, Fun, and so Unpredictable time!!
Oh, but wait I thought.. I love my girls to pieces.. did I mention.. their ages.. please do not do any adding to figure out how old I am.. OH well.. here we go I am turning the BIG 4-0 this year.. but, here we go.. My spunky little Mandy WHO IS NOT SO LITTLE ANYMORE and almost 17 yrs old.. BUT BELEIVE ME (and my credit cards) SHE IS STILL my guru on style.. and then there is my Beautiful Lexi.. omgoodness.. she is now 11 and loves to remind me daily..she is my little fashionISTA who wants to be a movie star one day OR A FASHION DESIGNER..watch out..she plans to have her own line by the time she is 16!!! And then, last, but certainly not least is my adorable sweet little Ky..who is 6 yrs old.. and so full of personality..WHO HAS LEARNED HOW TO TEXT MESSAGE.. she makes me smile with my daily text message from Daddy’s phone..
“I LOVE MY MOMMY.. LOVE KYKY”
And then there is my 19 year old son TJ..who still plays ice hockey..and might just ruff ya up little on the ice…TRIED TO MOVE AWAY TO COLORADO FOR SCHOOL AND OF COURSE PLAY HOCKEY, BUT ONLY LASTED ONE SEMESTER..TO FAR FROM HOME.. still tyring to figure out what he wants to do in life..just moved to San Diego to try school a little closer to home..!! So.. I thought I cannot leave my son out of this I thought.. hmmm… let’s see we have to some how incorporate some boy stuff here too.. and that’s where my wonderful sister, Christy, (not to mention she was blessed with three boys) blurted out.. put the boy stuff in the back.. and what a better name then..
